Guiltless Decadent Chocolate Mousse. So tell me, do you love chocolate? What do you think it is, the sugar, antioxidants or because you’re supposed to like it or is it all in the mindset?

While you think about that for a minute, why don't you enjoy this delicious healthy chocolate mousse! It only has 95 calories and 8 grams of HEALTHY fat! Everyone (well, almost everyone) loves chocolate but no one loves what it does for our bodies. So, I made this delicious, decadent chocolate mousse for a guiltless, indulgent dessert and everyone loved it! 


The key to successful weight-loss is to not deprive ourselves. When we play the mind game of testing our will-power it creates an unhealthy relationship with food. When we forbid ourselves from certain foods we crave it even more. (and of course, we know we eventually give in to those cravings and eat much more...) But, when we allow ourselves to have pleasure in food, it allows us to have a healthy balance and pleasure in the rest of our lives. The key is having indulgent foods that you enjoy that are still good for you! That is where this recipe falls into the picture!



This recipe is so easy… it takes literally less than 5 minutes to make. Go ahead... grab these ingredients and whip up a batch now! Your family will <3 you for it... it has been known to encourage putting the toilet seat back down and having all the legos picked up from the floor... just sayin ;)   

{HEALTHY CHOCOLATE MOUSSE}


INGREDIENTS:

1 ripe avocado

¼ cup cocoa powder

¼ cup almond milk

1 tspn instant coffee

1 tspn vanilla extract

1 Tbspn honey, monk fruit sugar or 2 fresh, medjool dates

optional: strawberries and mint to garnish

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix everything in a food processor until smooth.

  2. Spoon into your favorite dessert dishes

  3. Garnish with fresh strawberries and mint

  4. ENJOY!! serves 4.

Now… back to my question about loving chocolate. So what did you decide?? Well…  here’s what I came up with. I thought I loved chocolate and that my son was crazy for not liking chocolate! But once I went without chocolate and didn’t miss it at all, I realized that I only liked it because I thought I was supposed to like it, just like everyone else! Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike chocolate (and I still question my son’s sanity for not liking chocolate… besides for that he is the most awesome kid in the world!!! I guess everyone has to have *something* ;) ) But, it got me thinking how so much of what we do is because of our mindset and what has become ingrained in who and what we are.
